Heritage Quarries Family Ride

A local outdoors gem. The Heritage Quarries are a nice, local diamond in the rough. Actually, I think that’s appealing factor, is it’s a rugged, work-in-progress. We hooked up the Burly’s and the Tag-a-longs for a 6ish miles of wooded and lake views ride. We even stopped and found one of the 9 geocaches that are hidden in the area. By parking at the far east lot we rode our loop and also took some time on the benches with our packed lunch. The Quarries also run parallel to the Lemont section of the I+M Canal. Unfortunately, the Lemont section is cut-off from the rest of the Canal Trail network.
