Keith Nowakowski cycling, lemont, outdoor adventurer's, solo, Something Interesting

Okay, for starters I wasn’t actually wheel to wheel with a tow truck…

At the beginning and the end of the typical cycling season we’re limited by daylight. Sunset is before 7pm and the sun isn’t rising until after 6. Yes, I can start using a headlight and taillight but more on that later. With school in full motion and the late sunrise, morning are out, so that leaves me versus sunset. Sunset doesn’t really matter if you’re riding from your house or office but I’m riding my CalSag<>Tinley Creek Combo so I’m parked at the western end of the CalSag in a Cook County Forest Preserve parking lot. That explains the tow truck, if I don’t make it back in time.

Keep rolling, keep pedaling, push through it.

4.5 miles to go, 29 miles completed so far. I’m pretty tired, but I’m keeping up my pace. 🙂

Dusk can sometimes bring out swarms of these flying guys…
