Blizzard Night Snow Shoe – Heritage Woodland Sanctuary

Finally some serious snow ! Sadly it will only be here for a few days, I can’t believe March is here. In a few weeks I’ll be out for a bike ride. Back to the shoeing. Perfect conditions, maybe about 8″ of snow. I use MSR snow shoes, they seem to be perfect for the midwest with lots of bite into the ice under the fresh snow. Lots of wildlife tonight, an owl and five deer. I’m not sure who surprised who, but it was pretty cool to see the deer bounding through the covered branches.

We need some “back country” single track and hiking trails here. That’s my goal for this year. The trails would be great for everyone.
